GASBBT 6/22-6/30

In keeping with my pledge to train in only the best places, I've ridden twice with my Bunny totaling 41 miles. In addition, I did a little cross training over Father's Day weekend building a small shed with the help of my son, Steve. Emotional training is essential, too. The shed will house my shop vacuum, which will give me more space and less noise. The rest of my training will occur on a road trip this weekend. After a pleasant less than four hour trip to Seattle, our big city training began. We spent a glorious three hours sailing and swimming in Lake Washington, after which we walked a brisk 3.3 miles around the rim of Queen Anne enjoying the vistas of the Seattle sky line and mountains peeking out in all directions. Fabulous training ground. The last phase of training this week has been doing the heavy lifting of convincing my father to move to Spokane, which involved no less than renting an independent living space, putting his house up for sale, signing several legal docs. All good so far. Despite the lack of actual workout steps, this week's training has been excellent.

GASBBT TRAINING 6/15-6/21

In keeping with training in only the best places, I'm doing altitude training for the week in Park City, Utah. Between Kimball Junction (Where my cousin's condo is) and Deer Valley, the altitude ranges from 6500 to 7500 ft. We drove ten hours from Spokane on Monday, spent the night with our Uncle Sam (Butch, we call him). On Tuesday we walked a mountain bike trail 7 miles from Kimball Junction to Park City. Wednesday we did an ride of discovery that took us to Parleys Summit and then up to Park City (25 miles). Thursday we rode 35 miles. Friday we hiked 2.5 miles on a mountain hike up to 9300 fr in Deer Valley. Tomorrow we drive ten hours back to Spokane. Good week.

GASBBT TRAINING 5/31-6/7

Eighty three miles this week. 25 with Bruce Embry up and around the hills of south Spokane. 58 miles on the Trail of the Coeurd 'Alene's. Not bad considering it was a week of birthdays (Libby-31), graduation parties (Too many to list), retirement parties (I had a major speaking part, and our normal cribbage battles. So, really, it was a good week.
