Braintree, MA-Braintree, MA 9/14 10 walking miles; @20 car miles
Today's Bizzaro cartoon in the Boston Globe showed a husband and wife standing in the kitchen, she dressed in a bath robe and he dressed in a Superman suit, except the big S was replaced with a big R. His balloon read, "Get up, go to work, come home, watch TV, go to bed, get up, go to work... Her balloon read, "Thanks Real-Man." That's not me (Fortunately) For me life is a grand adventure, not just some tiresome journey, but things can change in a heart beat, which seems safe to say today. Ed's heart has been acting like it should under basically no load. We pushed our bikes to the bike shop (We shipped them back home), and we walked back just to get some exercise, and also to see if there is any reason not to continue, albeit with the bike trip turning to road trip. Ed was no worse for wear. Besides that encouraging sign, his cardiologist's office didn't return his call until 6 P.M. And when the nurse did call (No doctor), she labeled his episode a blip on the screen, which has Ed hopped up like a junkie. He has so many plans, we may have to extend our trip. Tomorrow, we'll rent a car for the next two months and carry on at our break neck speed. He likes to say, "The world is our oyster." Well, let me say our plate is over flowing. I'm ever so thankful for undeserved grace, accidental pleasures, and serendipitous moments. How could I think that life is anything but good, especially today. Nothing changes that because even for those whose true love dies in their arms, the world retains its essential goodness. That's the promise for all Real-Mans, and this I truly believe.

Thanks to your friend John and glad to have a place to land when you had the blip on the screen. Wishing you good travels and hopefully no more blips on the screen. Those blips can be scary.
